No licensed scrap metal sites are registered with Tower Hamlets council on the Environment Agency register, as of 2 November 2026. The nearest licensed yard is Bermondsey Metals Recycling Limited, about 1 miles from the centre of Tower Hamlets.
Will a scrap yard pay me in cash?
No. Under the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013, licensed dealers in England and Wales must pay by bank transfer, card payment or a non-transferable cheque. Cash is banned.
